- [Music] the Cent Africa M so far organized several scientific meetings and particularly five International conferences on uh have to today issues and in Bina like the issue of covid-19 the issue of security the center has also uh set up several research project on different themes like migration violence in the context of covid-19 globalization and health it has been uh set up in 2019 and and uh it has worked with a German funding from the University uh of B uh which launched a competition uh for African studies African multiple class Center of Excellence is a a very strong okay and beneficial collaborative project okay even beneficial for the the academics from here our University J K and even for the other academic from the other location uh our section as knowledge section has contributed in terms of uh uh um public engagement within University related to gender topic and that's led to a public conference on gender issue in academics uh in terms of commitment in terms of Engagement uh uh we can also uh notice the uh I was talking about the ministry people from the ministry you know participating in in some of the our symposia when you are taking mens you have to make sure that they are diverse type of men we're talking about women they are diverse type of women so bringing all this on board during this past six years has reinforced our research result and also has helped us to take into account some of the activities like having workshops in collaboration of the gender and development lab we think that is important to have a gender policy document so uh in last December uh when the relle laboratory on genda was actually celebrating his 10th anniversary we invited the laboratory and uh to work with uh the staff of University uh to produce and uh a kind of draft of this a institutional policy document on gender issues in our University and this initiative was supported by the African m center learning problematic the activities we have um carried out during this program uh they can be uh classified in two um categories we have uh conducted a research paper on globalization and health policy in West Africa This research project was conducted by me and Professor Boro and that one led to the publication of research paper as for conferences we organized some conferences but the main one we organized uh was in 2020 on um the new big project uh which is called the African African uh Continental free trade area which is in trade integration project between African countries during my six weeks Fellowship I worked on the project titled circumventing language learning uh and acquisition of migrants Eur migrants in wagadu I also I realized that 60% of the EUR migrants in wagadugu actually from shaki in in Nigeria and they have been you know they have been moving between Nigeria and and and and Bina F since the late 19 Cy effec comedian from the beginning okay of the clust we have 30 47 okay I mean 37 okay Fellowship that we have offered to the to the to the the students okay among them 70 post doctorate and 20 doctorates and all them they have defended the the phds okay so now they our vision here at the LCC waga we are thinking about creating an Institute of African study African and diaspora studies of African and diaspora studies uh to to discuss and see how to to study okay globally African usus from bukina okay from elsewhere from Africa and even uh the other location I mean so that we can have a lasting impact by starting this institute collaboration with uh universities across uh the world and uh to be able to put uh our universities uh uh to contribute to put our University where we think they should be
